We value your privacy. Doctor dB is built privacy-first: no ads, no tracking networks, no cross-site tracking, and minimal data collection. Everything runs on EU infrastructure. This policy covers doctordb.de, your account, and every Doctor dB product you install: plugins, Labs, and anything that follows.

If you create an account, we store your email address, display name (if provided), authentication method (e.g. passkey or external provider), and license/activation records. We need this to provide the service and manage your access (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of a contract).
We set one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It's required for the site to work and isn't used for tracking or advertising, so it doesn't need a cookie banner.
We send only transactional emails such as account verification, license information, and service notifications. No marketing emails are sent without your explicit consent. Email delivery is handled by Brevo, an EU-based processor.
We run our own first-party analytics on our own infrastructure. There is no third-party analytics processor, no analytics cookie, and no client-side tracking script.
Account actions, such as signing up, signing in, and activating a license, are recorded server-side and linked to your account. Installer downloads are recorded the same way, linked to your account only if you're signed in at the time. This data is deleted when you delete your account. We do this based on our legitimate interest in keeping an accurate record of account and license activity (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
General page traffic, such as which pages are visited and where visitors come from, is derived from server access logs and reported only in aggregate. It is not linked to individual accounts.
Crash reporting and usage diagnostics for our installer, plugins, and Labs are off by default and require your consent. Turn them on or off any time under Account → Notifications → Improve Doctor dB.
Once enabled, we collect: crash and diagnostic log files (size-capped, and never containing your audio, projects, email address, or license key); install and session events, such as a plugin session starting or the editor opening; and installer-run details such as app version, operating system and architecture, locale, device type, detected DAW hosts, and how the install went. All of this is linked to your account identifier, not your name or email. We only do this with your permission (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting processing from before the withdrawal.
Crash and diagnostic log files are deleted automatically after 90 days or your most recent 20 uploads, whichever comes first. Install and session events are deleted when you delete your account, like the analytics above. Installer-run details are kept to help us diagnose install issues; contact us to have this data deleted sooner.
For security and stability, our servers process operational logs that may include IP addresses, request metadata, and timestamps. These logs are used for security monitoring and debugging only, and are automatically deleted after 30 days. We do this based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and reliable (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
All services are hosted on infrastructure provided by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany (EU). We aim to keep all processing within the European Union. We do not use external font providers or third-party CDNs: all fonts and assets are self-hosted to avoid external tracking requests.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing and request data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
